I think every woman in our culture is a feminist. They may refuse to articulate it, but if
you were to take any woman back 40 years and say, 'Is this a world you want to live in?'
They would say, 'No.' ---Helen Mirren

Melancholy has ceased to be an individual phenomenon, an exception. It has become
the class privilege of the wage earner, a mass state of mind that finds its
cause wherever life is governed by production quotas. ---Gunter Grass

I'm back to reflecting on how Harriet's Father, Ian McCaig, spent his time in solitude
at the Royal Henley Retirement Residence in Canada and what made our daily
conversations together so rewarding. Harriet and I inherited his DVD collection
after he passed, so it is inspiring to think about the way that he helped to make
those concluding years of his life so meaningful for all of us. Thank you, Ian.
