Damani Pompey is a native of Brooklyn, NY. He attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Dance
under the direction of Michelle Mathesius and graduated with the Stephanie Silverman award in 2008.
Pompey attended the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance and graduated in May 2012 with a BFA
in dance, minor in arts management, and concentration in lighting design.

Damani Pompey choreographs students @ The Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School
of Music & Art and Performing Arts, Lincoln Center, NYC.

The Drama studio at LaGuardia High School is highly competitive. The students do not
get a chance to perform publicly until their junior year with musical theater, or senior year.

LaGuardia High School has offered an honors track to students entering after 2006, known as the
DaVinci Program. DaVinci Scholars take more difficult classes in math and science and participate
in a supplementary after-school enrichment program. Students not in the program may still
take individual honors classes.

colors and remain angry. We have to support the beauty, the poetry, of life. ---Jonas Mekas

alone is able to express the ultimate. ---Paul Tillich
