Conceptual Artist James Umland has worked with avant-garde luminaries such as John Cage, Robert Barry and Dary John Mizelle. Nicholas Croft's ten year collaboration with Mr. Umland explored the union of space[ in the form of the moving line ] and time[ in the form of electronic sound ]. Nicholas has had the privilege of transferring James Umland's WBAI 1/4" radio broadcast master tape collection, on the art of creative invention, to the digital format.
